Man (wimpy) vs Nature. Sometimes it blows my mind that nature can totally turn a house or other object into just splinters like in a tornado or hurricane, and then other times it has a very gentile, but still destructive side to it. This is the fence between us and our neighbor on the west, and Ike just pushed and pushed on it leaning it over without breaking any posts, runners, or slats. So I thought if the Hurricane could lean it over, I could straighten it up. So Saturday mom and I hooked up these 3 come-alongs and pulled and pulled and pulled to get it straight. We soaked the posts with water for about 3 hours thinking that would help (way more water than what we got in ike). So it is up now, but when we take the pressure off the come-alongs, I think it will pop right back to where it was. Anyway we will keep soaking the posts and keep the pressure on it for a while and see if we can undo what nature did in 10 hours or so.
We made a quick trip to Bryan today to see Ashlyn and her family. All seem to be doing well.
We had stake conference this weekend along with all the other stakes in TX. It was a satellite broadcast today which we missed, so we will have to watch the taped version. Our Saturday night meeting was a good one. On Friday we went to the temple for a couple of sessions which was nice. So we have had some fun things to do this weekend to break up the regular week stuff. Hope y'all had a nice weekend too.
